Decayed tree next to busy road

Reported via desktop in the Trees affecting highways or pavements category by Ed Turnbull at 16:23, Mon 10 June 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6089089.

The large Sycamore tree on the embankment adjacent to our property is decayed.

It has been reported to NCC before. (One of the reports was reference number is 101006669741 dated 24/06/2020). It continues to become more dangerous.

The cavity in the trunk is now more that 1 meter deep, see attached photographs. Can you please examine the tree and take the required steps to make it safe.

Unless action is taken, when the Sycamore falls (given the fact that is on an embankment) it will fall across the road. This is a surprisingly busy road and bus route, any vehicles that it hit would be severely damaged and there would be a high likelihood of serious injury to the occupants.

Please advise us of the results of your examination and the time table for your proposed actions.
