Dangerous junction

Reported via mobile in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 16:00, Mon 10 June 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6088947.

I would like to request some help with making the junction at the end of our road safer. I have had many close encounters when turning right out of the Warkworth Moor Junction (C101) onto Station road. This has been ongoing since living at Brotherwick over the past 6 years. My most recent happened to be with a Northumberland County Council van driving very fast from Eastfield Hall towards Warkworth. People tend to drive at high speed when they see that no other vehicles are coming in the opposite direction and take the corner at the junction with their cars in the middle of the road. They do not realise that there might be cars coming out of the junction as it is hidden from view. What concerns me most is the safety of my 3 year old daughter who sits in the back left hand seat as she would be in the most danger if we were hit. I can’t move her as my son sits on the other side. We use this junction to get to school every day and I notice people driving like this a lot, with little concern for, or awareness of emerging traffic. I wondered if warning signs could be put up or the speed limit lowered? And even though I am an advocate for wild verges perhaps the verges could be cut on this corner for better visibility. I am so worried that one day we will be hit by someone who is going too fast to stop in time. Thanks
