Investigating
Drains spilling onto main road
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 11:41, Wednesday 29 May 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6033952.
The road dropping down to Linnels Bridge from Hexham is becoming increasingly dangerous primarily due to a complete breakdown of the road surface as a result of water. Every time it rains there is a very clear point on the road verge where water gushes out from what is either field drains or something linked to the highway drain. At worst this causes a river right down the road which will cause a serious accident in due course. The current state of the road is seriously deteriorated. It is parting in the middle where there is a huge long pothole and it is rutted either side. It's just a matter of time before there is an accident here as people on the corner try to avoid hitting the potholes. This has been ongoing now for nearly a year and really needs fixing asap.
