Huge Tree

Reported via desktop in the Trees blocking TV/phone signal or light category anonymously at 09:22, Mon 13 May 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5965028.

Good morning

The tree and its neighbouring tree, are situated directly behind number 27 Weetwood avenue. I am forever gathering broken branches out of the garden. I think there should be a safety check conducted on those trees in the park. We have had some pretty adverse weather conditions over the winter and the trees are in a high pedestrian traffic area. The majority of the larger limbs hang over the main path through the park from the bowling club right through and onto the riverside road. This is a popular path used by all of the community. It also overhangs my back garden and as mentioned above, the branches break and land in my garden which I think in itself is a safety issue.

The larger of the two trees does appear to have some ivy growth on the main trunk. Lastly, they aren’t half blocking the light so a reduction in the vast height of these trees and likely across the park would be much appreciated. The light outside and into the property has changed in recent years, constantly in shade. They are just huge now and feel they are just too big next to this row of houses and is a health and safety problem.

Kind Regards

Katrina Lewis
