Road gullies blocked and floods when raining

Reported via mobile in the Surface Condition category anonymously at 11:51, Tue 7 May 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5940684.

The water floods the path along the left side of the street and washes out the sand from the paving flags, each time they are repaired they only use sharp sand but no cement which adds to the problem , flags loose and rocking, gullies need cleaning

  • We have had quite a bit more rain since and down Clifton Road a lot of flags are loose and rocking since the sand was washed out due to the blocked gullies, it will only be a matter of time till someone trips and falls

  • It’s now been 3 months and still nothing has been done, it just lucky no one has fallen yet, if anyone does fall they are looking at a substantial claim I would think.

  • This is a joke now, do they ever follow through on reported repairs

  • The council arrived and did half the job not by relaying the flags on sand and cement mix but by removing them and filling in the path with tarmac , the road gullies have not been touched, the photos attached was after a mild rain it shows the blocked gullies and the water starting to rise both ways in the street, do they not have gully wagons any more? Surely this is a relatively easy fix , at least it was when I worked for the council
