Non residents parking on an Access Only road

Reported via desktop in the Vehicle Impact category anonymously at 15:19, Fri 26 April 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5903016.

Abbey View and surrounding streets in the High Stanners area is an Access Only road. However it is increasing being used used for daily parking by non residents and who do not require access to premises and or land adjacent to the road. The area from 6 Abbey View to 11 Abbey View is badly effected by cars being parked along the road by non residents causing problems for residents in finding sufficient space to park their vehicles. There is an Except for Access signage at the beginning of Abbey Terrace opposite Mulan Restaurant but does not appear to be having any impact. Would it be possible to erect another Except for Access sign opposite 6-11 Abbey View possibly next to the lamp post or No Camping sign that already exists on the grass in this area. I believe this may have a positive impact and reduce the number of non residents from parking in the area which is a causing issues for residents and restricts traffic flow on already narrow roads.
