Inadequate Drainage Provision

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5837619.

During heavy rain water floods down the road and path to the north of Remschied Way/Blackclose Bank - most of this seems to miss the single gully provided. This results in a band of water flooding fully across the junction causing a safety hazard for road users particularly during icy conditions. Suggest that the situation is investigated when it rains to observe the problems and additional or re-located gullies are provided. May have contributed to the situation earlier this week when the road was closed at Stakeford Bridge due to flooding of the road.

  • Problem partially resolved however further works planned to relocate an existing gully east of the junction which is incorrectly located away from the kerb.

  • A wrongly located gully on the A196 north of the junction - is still to be re-located. At present it is located away from the kerb due to road widenign which took place withou the guly being moved close to the kerb.
