Dangerous road due absent / faded markings

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 19:20, Saturday 30 March 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5786092.

Hi! The road markings on the road through Doddington are gone in places and faded away in others. The road in is on a slope and has bends and cars regularly drive in the middle of the road - risking collisions due to the poor visibility. The lack of markings means there is no guidance for traffic which exacerbates the issue. Add to this the lack of footpaths and lighting, as well as a bus stop, and you have a real danger for pedestrians. Several near misses have been reported to the Parish council and we are also campaigning for a slower speed limit. Having markings restored would undoubtedly help and I would appreciate you looking into this. Sorry there are no photos - but it would be dangerous to take them. Thank you!
