12 inch pothole but road damage spread further around immediately outside my drive on Newcastle Road, Blyth on a main thoroughfare for heavy traffic and pedestrians.

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5725002.
This is a recurring pothole due to poor workmanship/cheap and/or incorrect repair materials. Recurrence has increased over the past three years with increased traffic and type of traffic eg Heavy Lorries. New Housing estates and the Railway Station creates this! Large Debris/loose chippings and Tarmac on this occasion have debris sizes of up to 3inches that could cause significant property damage eg cars body and paintwork and tyres (replacement/punctures), walls/fencing etc and also serious injury and/or indeed potential fatality to people eg local residents, pedestrians, parents and school children. It was also noted last week (and several times before then) that the roadsweeper vehicle omitted the pothole and surrounding parking areas, driving straight by and not picking up debris. I handbrush swept some of this to a safe kerbside to minimise/reduce the aforementioned damage/injury.

Whilst a patch on the pothole served as a Corrective Action, the patch is immediately being eroded with a lot of stones from it still potentially causing bodywork/tyre damage and/or personal injury to passing children/pedestrians. A more Preventive Acion is suggested using more robust materials to repair and sustain the safety of the pothole on such a busy road.
