Main gate off its hinges, info boards rotten, fences broken

Reported via mobile in the Wall/Fence/Gate Damage category anonymously at 21:00, Monday 12 February 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5568695.

The main gate to the heritage trail has been off its hinges for over 12 months, most of the information board posts are rotten and have broken and are laying on the floor. Most have faded and are illegible. The ones in the wooded area are covered in green moss. Trees have previously fallen down and have damaged all the fences and some trees have fallen onto the info boards. There is also a hole where one of the wooden pillars has been removed within the circle . It’s such a shame as you have produced some glossy leaflets promoting this as a tourist attraction ( available in the maelmin cafe) but it is nothing like how it’s been described. I overheard visitors saying how disappointing it is and that it’s not a very good advert for the area. Hopefully it can be given the TLC it requires to get it back to the educational site of historical interest that attracts people to the area.
