Obstruction and lack of signage

Reported via desktop in the Obstructed by boundary feature category anonymously at 11:21, Mon 22 January 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5474409.

There is no access to bridleway 118/010 from bridleway 106/014 due to the deep hawthorn hedge and barbwire topped fence that is behind that. There is also no signage that there is a right of way there. This means that you have to follow bridleway 106/014 and try and cross the A1068 on a blind bend.

  • No action taken due to nesting bird season. Landowner to undertake agreed works to reopen up the obstructed bridleway.

  • 30th March 2025 and very little progress apart from some fence posts. Not entirely sure why these are needed. Making access through the blocked fence/hedge would have been enough I would have thought. 14 months since the original incident was raised and this will be delayed further now as it's nesting season again?? Shocking

  • Last time I passed and there was still no progress. I'll assume grounds nesting season again. Any information on when this may be completed
