Trees blocking the traffic sign.

I am a Driving Examiner at Gosforth Test Centre. We use this road on test and as the sign is not visible. we are unable to use this route as a signs route when doing independent driving on test. This sign also has directions for An A&E Hospital. During the spring and summer we have to give advise on which exit to take which defeats the point of independent driving on test as there are not reading the sign and having to make their own decision as which exit to take because it is obscured. Can this be rectified please.

  • The trees have still not been cut back as requested. They cover the traffic which is used on test routes for independent driving. Examiners have to advise candidates about which exit to take as the sign is not visible especially during the summer. This defeats the independent driving element of the driving test and reduces road safety for all. The sign also has information for A&E.

  • As the trees will shortly be getting leaves on. This would be a perfect opportunity to cut them down with the road works being on and the lanes are already Narrowed. There is an A&E hospital just after the roundabout. I am sure the public need to know this.

  • The trees are now completely blocking the sign. Shocking. The Council were informed months ago. Had all winter to prune the trees.

  • A couple of little trees in front of the sign have been removed unfortunately the trees on approach to the sign have not been cut down.
