Tree is about 6' from the rear garden fence of both my neighbour and I.nd s
Reported via desktop in the Trees affecting highways or pavements category anonymously at 12:23, Thu 4 January 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5393075.
The trunk of the tree is split vertically and during the recent high winds, it was swaying alarmingly towards both my and my neighbours rear garden fence, the party fence and my garden shed. We are very concerned that unless it is removed, it is going to damage our property at some future date.

Your report has been forwarded to the appropriate department. Please note, we are only able to inspect trees that are dead, damaged, diseased or causing a physical obstruction as a priority. All general tree maintenance work requests that are causing no risk of harm to people or property will be dealt with as resources allow.
We are unable to provide a time frame for inspections and works relating to low priority requests. For more information follow https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/ Highways/ Report-a-tree-issue.aspx.

Several more storm warnings since my first report, I presume the council are going to wait until the tree falls and damages my property or that of my neighbour whereupon we will make a claim for damages from the council. It would be so much cheaper to pre-empt the problem by removing the tree.

3/4 months since I first reported this, still no action taken, why do we pay council tax?

Why have you been unable to deal with this? It is in a public open space so access is not a problem, the area is a regular playground of small children who are also at risk as a result of your failure. I have reported the issue and lack of response to my local councillor.
