Please could we have a grit heap put in place similar to previous years.

  • The criteria for the installation of a new grit bin are points based and includes the severity of the slope and bends, the category of traffic, if the highway is on a Primary 1 gritting route if there is already a grit bin within 200m radius and the footfall. Our Highway Inspector for the area will assess the need for a new grit bin in the location. Grit Heaps will be undertaken as resources become available.
