  • The next flash flood will tell us more but I had the pipe that runs through our property checked by cctv and flushed through by a private contractor, but then the following day council workers cleared the drains, which were full of silt and stones, on New Ridley Road which has partially blocked the pipe running under our property. I feel that the level of flooding that we are having now is too much for the current system to cope with. The pipes are Victorian and are no longer fit for purpose. My preference would be that the pipe that runs under our property is capped off, and new Pipe that can take the new level of flash flooding is taken along new Road, and then dropped into Batt House Road to join the drainage route for the rest of the surface water. In recent years, this has been a recurrent problem affecting several properties, and we don’t seem to be resolving it. Thank you.
