Sunday. Road completely flooded. Homes were at risk. Several blocked drains/gulleys. Fire Brigade had to attend.

These drains have been blocked for some time. Previously been inspected by Highways (or Northumbrian Water. Resident was told they were blocked eg by tree roots and they would be dealt with. No follow up. Needs attention before more heavy rain.

  • Aim Range carried out an investigation of the flooding issue. Tree roots and blockages in the surrounding drainage system which causes the the system not to work properly. Passed details to the local Highway Inspector who will raise this on planned works for more extensive investigation and book it in for repairs in the future.
