Unsuitable to long vehicle notice in wrong place
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5054968.
The sign indicating the narrow road with sharp bends between Eilansgate Terrace and Kingsgate is on a pole near the bend but by this time lorries have already come down Eilangate Terrace and attempt to navigate the bend (without success and occasionally damaging walls) and then have to reverse back down the terrace and out onto the main road. This is dangerous and unnecessary and would be avoided by placing the sign clearly at the entrance to Eilansgate Terrace with a vehicle length restriction clearly added. Also, add 'don't follow SatNav' (as most drivers have been following this when they find they can't make the bend).
I did notify the council about this several years ago but no action has been taken despite a promise it would.

A legal length restriction is not something we would be looking to implement at this time.
I will however, be looking to relocate the sign to the start of the street, in order to give sufficient advanced notice.
As 'Do not follow sat nav' signs are not prescribed by the DFT, we are unable to install them on the network.
