No 30 mph speed limit signage

Reported via desktop in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 18:54, Mon 21 August 2023

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4914082.

The road has street lighting, so is deemed a 30mph speed limit. Currently there are no signs to enforce this, meaning that traffic is travelling at speed, just inches from children and elderly residents waiting at the bus stop. Above Beacon Road, there is a cross roads, which is unsighted by approaching vehicles heading towards Shilbottle Village direction, and the same applies to the top opening within Beacon Road, this being completely unsighted by traffic travelling from Shilbottle.

  • Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

The 30mph scheme on Beacon Road has been programmed for December.

This is the earliest the scheme can be undertaken, as it requires a road closure, which has a 12 week lead in time. The closure is nessessary due to the proximity of the terminal signs to the A1. These signs also require illumination, which requires excavating across the carriageway.
